eBay item specifics

On eBay listings, you can add extra information which eBay uses to improve searches and gives eBay buyers morning information.  For example, this from a comic listing on eBay.com:

Ebay item specifics

These also appear when using the eBay mobile app on your smartphone, which can be useful as the full description for listings only appears when you click through to it.

There are default item specifics for particular categories on eBay.  In the above example, these fields where listed in category:

Collectibles > Comics > Modern Age (1992-Now) > Superhero > Spider-Man

They are all the fields, such as 'Main Character', 'Series', 'Grade', etc, above.

NOTE - We re-wrote this part of the system in April 2021, so that item specifics are collected for your auction's eBay category, so all the items you can fill in are now listed for you.

Creating your own item specifics fields

It is optional whether you fill in item specifics or not, or use the eBay category recommendations.  You can create your own, which can be really useful.  For example,

This seller has created 3 custom item specific fields to display their 'Seller name', 'Seller stock' and 'Combined postage'.

You could also add generic ones such as 'Discount' and set to 'Available' or 'See main description'

On both the bulk changes form and when you are adding/editing items, you can set these:

'Copy from clipboard' and 'Load from clipboard' buttons

The copy button will copy all the item specifics to your computers memory as text in the format:

Character=Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Rogue Trooper, Alan Moore
Modified Item=No
Country/Region of Manufacture=United Kingdom
Language=English
Style=Partial Colour
Tradition=UK Comics
Periodical Title=2000 AD
Genre=Science-fiction
Series=2000AD
Publication Frecuency=Weekly

These can then be pasted into a document (and then edited) and then loaded into another auction with the 'Load from clipboard' button.

'Load from auction' button

This allows you to copy and paste the website page address (URL) of any auction on eBay and this will then collect the item specificed used by that auction.

Bulk changed to multiple auctions

You can update lots of auctions at one using the Bulk changes buttons on either the 'New auction lots' or 'eBay auctions' tabs.

Setting default custom items specifics for your business to be added to all your listings

This can be done in the settings by on the menu clicking on 'File' then 'Program Settings' and going to the 'Item Specifics' tab.

If you have the Jumble Saler Standard Edition, which supports multiple eBay accounts, then you can also choose to use different auto added item specifics for each of your eBay accounts when selling.
